Job summary

Ventus Executive Solutions seeks a skilled Advanced Reactor Systems Engineer to support cutting-edge nuclear and mobile microreactor programs for a program office. You will be a primary technical interface for vendor-designed small reactors and perform risk assessments, safety evaluations, and design integration.

The role blends hands-on systems engineering, technical program management, and cross-agency collaboration to inform senior government leadership and drive national security

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• Significant experience in nuclear power systems, naval nuclear propulsion, advanced reactor programs, or similar high-reliability systems.
• Experience in systems engineering and/or technical program management.
• Experience with requirements management, system integration, risk assessment, design evaluation, or related engineering activities.
• Experience interfacing with vendors supporting complex engineered systems or capital equipment.
• Ability to own complex, ambiguous assignments and drive to completion with minimal supervision.
• Ability to translate complex technical information into concise assessments and reports for senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical interface for vendor-proposed microreactor and advanced reactor designs.
• Develop familiarity with assigned systems and provide actionable technical assessments to government leadership.
• Coordinate across government organizations, external experts, reactor design companies, and stakeholders.
• Manage interfaces, track program performance, and maintain program momentum.
• Support program management activities including schedule tracking, risk management, and issue resolution.
