Job summary

Minnesota Department of Human Services is seeking an Accounts Payable Unit Supervisor in St. Paul. The role leads DHS and MNsure SWIFT purchasing, encumbrancing, and vendor payments, while ensuring internal controls and timely processing.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership experience.
• Three years of accounting experience with GAAP knowledge.
• Experience with financial systems, databases, and office applications.

Responsibilities

• Supervise accounts payable function to ensure timely, accurate payments and compliance with labor agreements.
• Develop and maintain agencywide purchasing, encumbring, and payment procedures; train staff accordingly.
• Interface Warrant Print (IWP) application ownership and use to automate DHS purchasing and payments; maintain audit trails.
• Coordinate encumbrance certifications and closing of PO's as per schedule.
• Maintain DHS Imprest Cash controls, policies, procedures and reporting.
• Oversee document retention (EDMS/ICN) scanning policies and controls.
• Demonstrate enterprise leadership competencies: Leading Self, Leading Others, Leading the Organization, Leading Outside the Organization, Getting Work Done.
