Job summary

Argonne National Laboratory seeks an Accounts Payable Manager to lead a ten-person remote AP team, overseeing vendor invoices, employee travel reimbursements, and the full disbursement cycle.

You will ensure compliance with the Prime Contract, DOE requirements, CAS, GAAP, and OMB Circular A-123, while partnering with Accounting, Procurement, Travel, and other divisions to improve processes and controls.

Qualifications

• Preferred knowledge of CAS, GAAP, and OMB Circular A-123.
• Experience leading a large, remote accounts payable team.
• Experience in regulated DOE or federal contractor environments.
• Ability to develop policies, controls, and performance metrics.

Responsibilities

• Lead the accounts payable function for the Laboratory’s total disbursement cycle.
• Ensure compliance with the Prime Contract, DOE requirements, CAS, GAAP, OMB Circular A-123, and Argonne policies.
• Oversee timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and employee travel reimbursements.
• Establish roles, responsibilities, and accountability across procure-to-pay processes with stakeholders.
• Manage a large remote team, coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
• Navigate and optimize complex financial systems and workflows.
• Establish, track, and report key operational and compliance metrics.
