Job summary

H2O.ai is seeking a hands-on Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. You’ll handle AP, travel & expense, cash management, and month-end close in a fast-paced SaaS environment, ensuring data integrity and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of general accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and experience with NetSuite/SAP S/4Hana and Bill.com/Ramp. A CPA- track is a plus, and remote-friendly work culture is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2–5 years of general accounting experience, preferably in software/tech.
• Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP S/4Hana Cloud) and procure-to-pay tools (Bill.com, Ramp).
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and core accounting principles.
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort with cloud-based financial tools.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Support accounts payable process with invoice entry and approvals.
• Manage travel & expense processes and related reconciliations.
• Oversee cash activity, bank statements, and reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end close and journal entries.
• Maintain vendor records and assist 1099 reporting.
• Collaborate with engineering, sales, FP&A, and People Ops on expenses.
• Contribute to cash forecasting, data management, and internal controls.
• Assist with audits and compliance initiatives.
• Identify automation opportunities to scale accounting ops.
