Job summary

Workweek is hiring the first dedicated member of our finance team to own the books, run month-end close, and manage revenue recognition, accruals, billing, AR/AP, and reporting in a lean, automated environment. This hands-on role requires GAAP expertise and comfort building processes from scratch, with the CFO ready to hand you bigger problems as you grow, including AI-driven finance workflows.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years in accounting or finance ops at an early-stage or high-growth company.
• Strong GAAP accrual accounting, revenue recognition timing, and period cutoffs.
• End-to-end month-end close experience.
• Hands-on with AP/AR, billing, and GL review.
• Able to convert variable compensation data into accruals.
• Variance reporting and ability to design processes from scratch.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online, Stripe, Ramp or similar tools.
• Comfort using AI in finance workflows; no deep technical background required.
• Good judgment on when to resolve independently vs. escalate.

Responsibilities

• Accounting, month-end close & cash management: run close, reconciliations, day-to-day accounting.
• GAAP accruals: revenue recognition, deferred revenue, accruals, prepaids, cutoffs.
• Billing, AR & AP: invoicing, collections follow-up, vendor payments, onboarding.
• Process, systems & cross-functional ops: build repeatable workflows and automate steps.
• Manage commission/variable-comp accruals end-to-end and document accrual schedules.
