Job summary

ArcherStanley Group, LLC in the Washington, DC area is seeking an experienced nonprofit accounting professional to join a mission-driven team. This role offers 100% Remote or Hybrid (1 day a week for local DC area candidates) and a salary up to $100K–$120K, depending on experience.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in general accounting and financial statement prep for a nonprofit, with grants oversight and ASC 606 expertise. Supervisory experience and CPA or master’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree and/or CPA preferred.
• Experience with Federal grants for C3/C4 organizations and ASC 606.
• 6+ years in progressive accounting and financial statement prep.
• Deep understanding of grants accounting.
• At least two years of supervisory experience.
• Customer service mindset and ability to influence decisions.

• Prepare and oversee financial statements for a nonprofit organization.
• Oversee grants accounting, expenditures tracking, and compliance with restricted funds.
• Mentor and coach accounting staff and collaborate with teams.

Our client is a mission-driven, energetic organization whose goal is to provide strategy to enhance their stakeholder’s philanthropic pursuits.

A great candidate will have 7+ years of accounting experience in all aspects of general accounting and financial statement preparation within a non-profit organization that has an interest in supporting the clients of the association with accounting services, including grants oversight. You consider yourself a grants guru and have in-depth knowledge of C3 & C4 grant accounting, including tracking expenditures, compliance with restricted funds, and allocating indirect costs.

You’re a collaborator who appreciates working with others, managing to your team’s strengths, and likes to coach and mentor others.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Accounting degree - Master's and/or CPA preferred
• Significant experience working with Federal grants for a C3 or C4 organization, including mid-level expertise with ASC 606/Revenue Recognition.
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including preparing financial statements
• A deep understanding of accounting for grants is required
• At least two years of supervisory experience
• Customer service attitude and mindset
• Ability to build relationships and influence decision-making
