Proper is a San Francisco-based startup seeking an Accounting Manager to lead a 20+ person team delivering property management accounting services to US clients. This role emphasizes Lean Six Sigma, data-driven performance, and ownership of the team’s P&L, with a commitment to accuracy and timely service.

The position is remote from Colombia, reporting to the Accounting Operations department, and offers opportunities to grow within a dynamic, collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a similar degree.
• 4+ years of experience managing a team of 20+.
• 4+ years of experience managing 10+ clients simultaneously.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP (or foreign equivalent).
• Detail-oriented and able to complete tasks precisely.
• Extensive experience in large accounting roles as a manager/supervisor.
• Proven track record supervising, leading and coaching a team.
• Excellent MS Office or Google Suite experience.
• Advanced English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of 20+ accounting professionals, fostering high performance and development.
• Apply Lean Six Sigma to streamline processes, eliminate waste, and drive efficiency.
• Use data analytics to monitor performance and inform decisions.
• Own the team’s P&L and optimize resources to improve margins.
• Maintain strong client relationships and ensure timely, accurate service delivery.
