Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent education and training.
• One or more years of accounting experience; nonprofit experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using a computerized accounting system; Blackbaud Financial Edge preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research and resolve discrepancies independently.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, maintain attention to detail, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to communicate with diverse cultural backgrounds respectfully.

Responsibilities

• Verifies invoices for accuracy and obtains approvals.
• Assigns expenses to general ledger and department codes.
• Inputs invoices and processes payments in the accounting system.
• Processes corporate credit card transactions per policy.
• Acts as primary contact for invoice payment status with vendors and stakeholders.
• Assists with month-end and year-end close; prepares journal entries and reconciliations.
• Provides audit support and gathers necessary documents.
• Prepares and submits grant invoices with supporting documentation.
• Coordinates and monitors collection activities.
• Performs general accounting and administrative duties as needed.
