The role emphasizes accurate financial operations, grant accounting, and internal controls.

The Senior Accountant will support monthly closings, audits, and reporting, manage accounts payable, and maintain grant and contribution accounting records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field is required.
• 5-7 years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Experience in nonprofit, foundation, or grantmaking accounting is preferred.
• Experience with Sage Intacct or comparable system is preferred.
• Experience with Salesforce or another CRM is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly close process with reconciliations and schedules.
• Assist with annual financial audit with grant and other accounting schedules.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and other reporting.
• Manage accounts payable activities and timely payments.
• Record and reconcile grant revenue, AR related to donations.
• Maintain grant accounting records including commitments, payables, disbursements, and reconciliations.
• Reconcile grant activity between general ledger and grant records.
• Review grant agreements and supporting documentation for accounting treatment.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Support internal controls related to financial transactions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Support the monthly financial close process, including preparation and review of account reconciliations and supporting schedules
• Support the annual financial audit, including preparation of grant, contribution, and other accounting schedules and supporting documentation
• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and other financial reporting
• Manage accounts payable activities, including accurate and timely processing of payments
• Record and reconcile contribution revenue and accounts receivable related to donations
• Maintain accurate accounting records for grants awarded, including grant commitments, payables, disbursements, and reconciliations
• Reconcile grant activity between the general ledger and grantmaking records
• Review executed grant agreements and supporting documentation for accounting treatment
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities
• Support internal controls related to financial transactions

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required
• 5-7 years of progressively responsible accounting experience

Compensation:

Pay Rate: $42 - $48/hr
