Job summary

Insurance Office of America is seeking an Account Manager - Commercial Lines to manage an assigned book, ensure retention, and support new business. Hybrid work is preferred with one day in NY offices or fully remote for Eastern/Central time zones.

You will coordinate day-to-day admin and client service, resolve complex issues, and work with the account team to retain clients and renew policies. The role requires a P&C license; CIC preferred and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of account management experience, or 5+ years in the insurance industry.
• Active property & casualty (P&C) license is required; CIC or equivalent is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills.
• Exceptional customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Technical competence: maintain industry expertise and knowledge.
• Direct daily activities of the account management team.
• Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis.
• Manage policy expirations and renewals.
• Conduct client research, prepare submissions, negotiate coverages, and present proposals.
• Monitor reports and take action on delinquent accounts.
• Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms.
• Monitor activity/suspense to ensure timely completion.
• Maintain transparent communication with the account team about workload.
• Deliver excellent service and anticipate client needs.
• Stay updated on company policies and procedures.
• Seek and adopt best practices to improve performance.
• Demonstrate integrity and leadership aligned with IOA values.
