The American Marketing Association is offering an Academic Communities Intern role. You will support the academic community of marketers by delivering community-driven events, assisting volunteer leaders, and fostering fellowship among academics while working remotely.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Enrolled at a 2-year or 4-year college/university.
• Customer service or volunteer management experience.
• Interest in working within event management, volunteer management, or association management.
• Experience in Google Suite.
• Keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work remotely 24 hours per week.
• Experience planning events is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage Special Interest Group (SIG) webpages.
• Assist with SIG budget and financial management, including payments, reimbursements, and invoices.
• Support the Manager, Academic Communities, with planning and logistics for 2027 Winter Academic, Virtual Winter Academic, Summer Academic, and Marketing and Public Policy conferences.
• Respond to attendee inquiries alongside the Manager, Academic Communities, and Customer Support team.
• Help execute Conference and SIG awards processes.
• Assist the Senior Copy Editor with conference proceedings administration.
