Job summary

University of Massachusetts Global is seeking an Academic Advisor to guide undergraduate and graduate students through program and course requirements. You will build rapport with students, track progress, and support persistence toward degree completion, while aligning with policies and collaborating with the advising community.

This remote role accepts candidates from approved states and offers flexible schedules along with benefits including health, retirement, education support, and wellness

Qualifications

• Excellent oral communication and writing skills to communicate clear, concise and grammatically correct documents, reports and correspondence.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with diverse constituents.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Required to maintain high level of confidentiality of student records.
• Ability to abide by the ethical standards and guidelines for academic advising.
• Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
• Knowledge of advising theories and principles.
• Familiarity with adult learning principles and higher education policies.

Responsibilities

• Advise undergraduate and graduate students on learning outcomes and program requirements.
• Track and report student progress and support retention.
• Collaborate with university partner offices and committees.
• Prepare analyses and reports to support enrollment and retention initiatives.
