Job summary

Guidant Financial is hiring for a Retirement Plan Operations Specialist to support the administration, testing, and reporting of 401(k) plans from a remote work environment. You will review client documents, assist with year-end reporting, and communicate progress to clients throughout the plan year.

The role offers accelerated training, a path to growth in retirement-plan operations, and a strong emphasis on ownership and accountability in a collaborative, ESOP-driven culture.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of adjacent back-office financial operations experience (benefits administration, money movement/wires, insurance claims processing, tax prep processing, loan or mortgage document processing, or compliance or quality-control support).
• Direct retirement-plan operations experience, including 401(k)/IRA administration, recordkeeping, distributions and rollovers, compliance testing, or 5500/year-end reporting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to obtain necessary information to prepare the annual reporting.
• Review documents submitted by clients for completeness and accuracy.
• Reconcile plans with only rollovers and plan stock using Excel and administration software.
• Utilize administration software to complete 401(k) testing and reporting.
• Make outgoing reminder calls and send emails to clients during the plan year reporting process.
• Prepare required 401(k) plan government filings, including the IRS Form 5500, using filing software.
• Educate clients regarding the administration of their 401(k) plan and 401(k) plan documents.
