Job summary

Guidant Financial is hiring a Retirement Plan Operations Specialist to administer and report on 401(k) plans in a fully remote role. You will review client documents, perform testing and reporting, and assist with government filings from a distributed team across the US.

Ideal candidates have 1–5 years in back-office financial ops, strong Excel skills, and a foundation in 401(k) plan structures and IRS/DOL regulations. Comprehensive benefits and ESOP are offered.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of adjacent back-office financial operations experience.
• Proficiency with document review and transaction processing.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business or finance preferred.
• Basic knowledge of 401(k) plan structure, IRS/DOL regulations.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook for daily work.

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to obtain necessary information to prepare the annual reporting.
• Review documents submitted by clients for completeness and accuracy.
• Reconcile plans with rollovers and plan stock using Excel and administration software.
• Utilize administration software to complete 401(k) testing and reporting.
• Prepare required 401(k) government filings including IRS Form 5500.
• Educate clients regarding administration of their 401(k) plan.
