Job summary

Guidant Financial, a fully remote employer, seeks a Retirement Plan Operations Specialist to learn and administer 401(k) plans. You will review documents, communicate progress to clients, and support year-end government filings, including Form 5500, with accelerated training and practical experience.

You will grow from document review to performing basic plan administration while embracing Guidant’s values and ESOP journey, with opportunities for career development and cross-functional exposure.

Qualifications

• Proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is required.
• 1–5 years of adjacent back-office financial operations experience by default.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business or finance preferred, or equivalent work experience.
• Basic knowledge of 401(k) plan structure, ROBS, and IRS/DOL regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to obtain information for annual reporting.
• Review client documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Reconcile plans using Excel and administration software.
• Use 401(k) testing and reporting tools to prepare filings.
• Make reminder calls and send emails during plan-year reporting.
• Prepare IRS Form 5500 filings using filing software.
• Educate clients on 401(k) plan administration and documents.
