Job summary

FIS seeks a Remittance Processing Associate Specialist to support accurate and timely processing of customer payments and exceptions. You will apply advanced remittance processing knowledge to resolve complex items, maintain quality and support operational priorities. You will also share knowledge with colleagues and help maintain efficient workflows.

Schedule: 5 days with 2 days off, 4am–12:30pm. Responsibilities include hands‑on preparation, organization, equipment operation, exception

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Advanced knowledge of remittance processing practices, procedures and workflows.
• Strong skills in researching, analyzing and resolving payment processing exceptions.
• Ability to identify errors in transaction calculations, balances and processing output.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to sequence and prioritize high‑volume work.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills when working with colleagues and clients.
• Ability to work independently on complex processing activities while contributing effectively within a team.
• Availability to work a flexible day‑shift schedule across any day of the week, including at least one weekend day each week.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands‑on preparation of customer payments and remittance items for processing.
• Sort, organize and sequence payment work to prepare items for accurate and timely processing.
• Operate remittance processing equipment and perform routine setup and maintenance activities.
• Process exception items requiring manual review, research or adjustment.
• Review payment information and processing output to identify errors, discrepancies or out‑of‑balance items.
• Perform research and adjustments to resolve payment processing issues.
• Prepare outgoing collection items and other physical payment materials for processing.
• Maintain remittance processing supplies and keep work materials organized for daily production.
• Work through high‑volume processing workloads while maintaining accuracy and meeting established deadlines.
• Provide guidance to less experienced associates on remittance processing procedures and complex items.
