R.H. Sheppard Co. Inc. is seeking a Reman Assembler to reassemble used and new steering gears to meet specifications and quality standards. The role requires working under close supervision and performing tasks across assembly, inspection, and data entry.

You will select parts, verify tolerances with gauges, operate pre-assembly machines, and coordinate with schedules to ensure timely production while maintaining safety and quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to solve problems and make quick, accurate decisions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
• Experience with lean manufacturing concepts (5S, JIT, standardized work) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Select component parts to assemble per blueprints or instructions and inspect for damage or defects.
• Ensure tight tolerances using indicators and tools.
• Operate pre-assembly machines and related equipment.
• Assemble and fasten components per plans, maintaining quality standards.
• Coordinate parts using an assembly schedule and communicate issues to supervisor.
• Input data and retrieve information using a computer.
• Perform basic tool and machine maintenance, including checking oil levels.
