Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Thermal Engineering Manager 2 in Linthicum, MD to lead a team of thermal and fluid analysts. Responsibilities include supervising design for sensor systems across airborne, space, maritime, and land environments.

Qualifications include advanced degrees in STEM and 6–8+ years in electronics cooling and heat transfer, with experience in ANSYS tools and design-by-analysis. Secret clearance and relocation support may apply.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience, master’s with 6 years, or Ph.D. with 4 years in STEM; extra 4 years may be considered in lieu of a degree.
U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in electronics cooling, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer.
Minimum of 6 years of experience performing design-by-analysis using finite volume or finite difference software for thermal or fluid applications.
Experience serving as a program thermal lead on development programs.

Responsibilities

Functional management of a Thermal Design and Analysis group.
Technical supervision of thermal design for sensor systems in airborne, space, maritime, and land environments.
Ensure people, processes, and tools meet program cost and schedule while satisfying thermal requirements.
Oversee thermal design of sensor systems in varying environments.
Attend internal and customer reviews, approve analysis/test reports, and conduct thermal trade studies.
Develop staffing plans and roadmaps; hire to meet demand and manage attrition.
