Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal/Senior Principal Thermal Analysis Engineer for the Linthicum, MD area. You will lead thermal design across airborne, ground, and naval platforms, owning requirements and architecture while mentoring engineers. Strong background in heat transfer and convection/conduction problems is essential.

The role requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance. Onsite work at the Linthicum facility is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of experience, master’s degree with 3 years of experience, Ph.D. with 1 year of experience in STEM fields.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
• Onsite work at Linthicum, MD facility.
• 3 years of electronics design experience focusing on thermal analysis.
• 3 years of design-by-analysis with finite volume or finite difference methods.
• 3 years applying thermal engineering to convection and conduction problems.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple programs with thermal design for airborne, ground, and naval platforms.
• Design advanced electronics thermal management solutions to optimize performance.
• Perform electronics thermal analysis including liquid-cooled and air-cooled systems.
• Lead thermal designs by owning requirements, architecture, and performance, mentoring others.
• Deliver oral and written presentations to customers and stakeholders.
