Chartwells Higher Education at Michigan Technological University in Houghton, MI, seeks a Director of Dining Services to lead a Student Dining Hall. You will oversee day-to-day operations, staff development, and financial performance while upholding contract guidelines, food quality, safety, and service standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred.
• Five or more years of operational food service management experience.
• Knowledge of food and catering trends with focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, marketing and presentation.
• Strong leadership abilities with experience supervising staff.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
• Outstanding customer service skills with commitment to quality.
• Proficient in preparing and analyzing financial reports.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Must be experienced with computers.
• ServSafe Certified.

Responsibilities

• Supervise hiring, training, and development of staff to uphold service and food quality.
• Maintain client and customer happiness by meeting food quality and service standards.
• Prepare and complete daily, weekly, and financial reports, including food and labor costs.
• Ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards for health and safety.
• Foster strong client relationships to align programs with objectives and retention.
• Perform other duties to support efficient dining service operations.
