Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group The PC is seeking an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician (Relief) for Clifton, NJ. This per diem role joins a fast-paced ER team delivering gold-standard care for a wide range of emergencies, including anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing.

The successful candidate will triage, treat, and collaborate with doctors while supporting pet parents in stressful moments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or higher in AVMA-accredited veterinary technology preferred.
• Credentialed veterinary technician (CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT) in the state where the VEG practice is located; VTS in ECC/anesthesia a plus.
• 1+ year experience as a veterinary technician; emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
• Basic computer skills and EMR familiarity.
• Able to stand for long periods; lift up to 25 kg; available for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care, treatments, and emotional support from triage to discharge.
• Perform diagnostics, anesthesia monitoring, and critical care nursing as part of the ER team.
• Assist with IVs, CRIs, blood transfusions, and other therapies.
• Collaborate with doctors and staff to plan and maintain smooth patient care.
• Handle diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tube placement.
