Job summary

TRANSIT AUTHORITY OF NORTHERN KENTUCKY is seeking a Fixed Route Operator to safely operate buses on assigned routes, adhere to schedules, and assist passengers with courtesy.

The role requires a High school diploma or equivalent, 1 year customer service, CDL Class B with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements, and a clean driving record.

Candidates must learn route details, work cooperatively, and maintain records and fare system use with accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of customer service experience.
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements or obtained during training.
• Clean driving record – not more than 1 moving violation and 1 accident within past 5 years.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Initiative and attention to detail.
• Ability to learn detailed schedule information about TANK routes.
• Ability to work cooperatively and be a team player.

Responsibilities

• Drives buses on designated routes within a timetable.
• Notifies dispatch of deviations, overloads, incidents, or medical/behavior problems.
• Loads/unloads passengers at stops and follows route changes.
• Administers fare policy and distributes transfers.
• Dispenses route and service information to customers.
• Completes and submits written reports on incidents and accidents.
