Job summary

Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky is seeking a Fixed Route Operator to safely and efficiently transport passengers along assigned routes, maintaining on-time performance and customer service excellence. Responsibilities include operating a coach, handling fare collection, and staying current on schedules and detours.

A CDL Class B with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements is required (or obtained during training), with a clean driving record and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 1 year of customer service experience.
• CDL Class B with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements (or obtained during training).
• Clean driving record – not more than 1 moving violation and 1 accident in past 5 years.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Initiative and attention to detail.
• Ability to learn route/schedule information and work well in a team.
• Ability to keep clear and accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Drives bus on designated routes within a schedule.
• Notifies dispatch of deviations, overloads, incidents.
• Notifies dispatch of passenger issues and vehicle problems.
• Stops to load/unload passengers; assists with wheelchairs when needed.
• Maintains route/schedule awareness and safety standards.
• Operates farebox and related onboard systems; provides passenger information.
