Job summary

Wolfspeed is seeking a reliability lab technician to build and test boards, perform precision soldering, and run quality reliability tests in a fast-paced lab.

The role requires an associate degree in electronics or related field and 3+ years in a lab, with experience reading schematics and using power supplies, multimeters, data loggers, and environmental chambers. Day shift with possible overtime is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in a reliability lab or electronics test lab.
• Demonstrated soldering proficiency (through-hole and SMT); IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 preferred.
• Ability to read and build from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and build plans.
• Experience operating lab/test equipment such as power supplies, multimeters, data acquisition systems, and environmental/temperature chambers.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed test procedures precisely.
• Ability to work day shift, including overtime as needed to support test schedules.

Responsibilities

• Build and assemble test boards, fixtures, and test systems from schematics, build plans, and specifications provided by engineers.
• Perform precision soldering and rework on test boards, components, and interconnects to build reliability test vehicles.
• Start, stop, and monitor reliability tests like HTOL, HTRB, THB, temperature cycling, burn-in, life testing per test plans.
• Set up and configure test chambers, power supplies, data loggers, and other lab equipment to support reliability tests.
• Troubleshoot test systems and equipment; escalate issues to engineers as needed.
• Collect, record, and organize test data; perform basic data checks and flag anomalies.
• Maintain accurate documentation of test setups, run logs, and equipment maintenance records.
• Support calibration, preventive maintenance, and repair of lab equipment and fixtures.
• Assist engineers with failure analysis support activities, including sample prep and handling.
• Maintain a clean, safe lab area per EHS standards.
• Train and mentor junior technicians on soldering techniques, test builds, and lab safety.
