Job summary

Whatsupstateny in Durham, NC is seeking an experienced electronics technician for a reliability lab role. Build and assemble test boards, fixtures, and systems from schematics and build plans, then perform precision soldering and rework on through-hole and SMT components to support reliability testing.

You will set up test chambers, power supplies, data loggers, and other lab equipment, monitor HTOL/HTRB/THB tests, and collect data while maintaining meticulous documentation and adherence to

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in electronics or related field.
• Minimum 3+ years in a reliability/electronics test lab or similar.
• Demonstrated soldering proficiency (through-hole and SMT); IPC-A-610/J-STD-001 preferred.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and build plans.
• Experience with lab equipment and data collection.

Responsibilities

• Build and assemble test boards, fixtures, and test systems from schematics and plans.
• Perform precision soldering and rework on boards and interconnects.
• Start, stop, and monitor reliability tests per test plans.
• Set up test chambers, power supplies, data loggers, and lab equipment.
• Troubleshoot test systems and escalate complex issues as needed.
• Collect and organize test data, flag anomalies, and document setups.
• Maintain documentation and perform routine lab maintenance.
• Assist with failure analysis support and sample handling.
• Maintain a safe, clean lab environment and mentor junior technicians.
