Job summary

Slip Robotics is seeking a Service Support Engineer to own the fleet-wide reliability function across all deployed products. You will perform rigorous root cause analysis, validate hypotheses through bench and field tests, and generate formal RCA reports in partnership with Quality.

You will also design and roll out a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for SlipBot and SlipLift ALRs, coordinating with Field teams and documenting processes.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of experience in reliability engineering, sustaining engineering, field service engineering, or a closely related technical role with a strong failure analysis component.
• Demonstrated experience conducting structured root cause analysis using formal methodologies (8D, FMEA, fishbone/Ishikawa, 5-Why, or equivalent); able to produce formal RCA documentation, not just informal findings
• Hands‑on electromechanical troubleshooting experience — must understand physical systems and perform bench‑level validation
• Ability to form, design, and execute hypothesis‑driven test plans; move from observation to structured investigation
• Strong technical writing skills: RCA reports, PM procedures, and failure documentation must be clear for technical and non‑technical audiences
• Comfortable operating without established processes; able to build structure where none exists

Responsibilities

• Root Cause Analysis & Failure Investigation: Own fleet-wide RCA for systemic failures across all deployed products.
• Form and test hypotheses through bench-level and field validation; design test protocols.
• Produce formal RCA reports documenting evidence, causal chain, validated root cause, and corrective action.
• Drive RCA findings to verified closure in partnership with Quality; ensure corrective action is validated.
• Develop and deploy preventative maintenance programs for all deployed products; define schedules, procedures, and intervals.
• Partner with Field Maintenance and Field Engineering to validate PM procedures in the field.
• Own rollout and ongoing management of PM program across all active customer sites; track PM compliance.
