Job summary

August Bioservices is seeking a Reliability Engineer to serve as the system owner for asset performance and reliability improvements across manufacturing equipment and facility assets. You will lead RCAs, establish asset strategies, and verify corrective actions while partnering with Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Validation to ensure compliant, sustainable improvements.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will drive preventative/predictive maintenance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Reliability Engineering, or related.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing, maintenance, equipment reliability, or related fields.
• Experience leading RCAs and implementing permanent corrective actions.
• Knowledge of preventive/predictive maintenance, equipment criticality, FMEA, lifecycle risk, reliability metrics.
• Experience with controlled engineering-change processes for equipment modifications.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics, and control narratives.
• Strong writing, data analysis, project execution, facilitation, and cross-functional communication.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize risk, and influence without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliability strategies for critical assets and monitor availability and downtime.
• Lead RCAs for repeat or high-impact failures and define measurable actions.
• Provide technical design authority for equipment modifications and lifecycle changes.
• Lead process and workflow improvements with change-control, validation, and training.
• Optimize maintenance tasks and introduce predictive/condition monitoring where justified.
• Define maintenance plans, lubrication standards, and spare-parts strategies with maintenance.
• Develop dashboards and Pareto analyses to visualize losses and improvement progress.
• Coach and guide cross-functional teams in structured troubleshooting and reliability fundamentals.
• Support GMP, data integrity, and compliance through audit-ready documentation.
