Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Reliability/ Maintenance Engineer at the Buffalo Grove, IL site in the Diabetes Care division to sustain automation equipment at a large manufacturing facility. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or closely related discipline is required or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in engineering, project management, and/or operational roles.
• Working technical knowledge of engineering concepts, practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage spare part inventory and prevent stockouts.
• Identify obsolete parts and coordinate replacements and validation.
• Coordinate equipment upgrades with OEMs and TPM.
• Lead reliability reviews to reduce downtime and increase first-pass yield.
• Develop preventive maintenance improvements with TPM collaboration.
• Plan and execute small- to medium-sized engineering projects.
• Estimate resources and coordinate materials, budget, time, and personnel.
• Conduct data analysis to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Communicate findings to stakeholders and mentor team members.
