Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Reliability Engineer in the McLean, VA area to plan, oversee research, development, design, test, and maintenance of diverse electronic and mechanical equipment. You will serve as a design/analysis team member or lead on simpler tasks, generating complete design specifications and coordinating with multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Engineering or related scientific field with at least 5 years of related experience.
• Strong communications and analytical skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Perform design development, analysis or review tasks under minimal supervision.
• Lead lesser complex tasks and handle portions of design or analysis.
• Generate complete design specifications for more complex projects.
• Coordinate with engineering, logistics, finance, and program management to define system specifications and requirements.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications.
• Interface with customers from quotation to final design and test activities.
• Conduct site visits and investigations to analyze problems and propose solutions.
• Verify conformance to engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
• Support development of technical proposals and assess scope of work.
