Job summary

Coldwell Banker Richard Ellis - USA is seeking a Reliability/Controls Engineer to optimize material-handling systems and keep automation running at peak performance. You will diagnose PLCs, refine control software, and lead escalation across on-site and remote environments while coordinating with operations and contractors.

You’ll monitor SCADA dashboards, analyze failure modes, and implement reliability improvements across conveyors, sortation lines, and vision systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; combination of education and experience may be considered.
• 2+ years PLC programming, robotics components, and SCADA-based monitoring/control.
• Willingness to work weekends, nights, and holidays as needed; escalation point after hours.

Responsibilities

• Check SCADA dashboards and equipment KPIs to spot trends and tune preventive maintenance strategies.
• Diagnose and refine PLC control software using RSLogix 5000 for material handling systems.
• Serve as first-call escalation on-site and remote to resolve complex controls issues.
• Walk the systems to verify operation against design intent and client specs; adjust accordingly.
• Scope, schedule, and inspect work by third-party contractors to ensure quality and compliance.
• Engineer reliability and process improvements from concept through network-wide implementation.
• Monitor and troubleshoot industrial networks (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, AS-i) and motor control systems.
• Analyze failure modes, lead reviews, and propose procedural changes to prevent recurrence.
• Partner with site leadership, operations, and maintenance to communicate risks, timelines, and impacts clearly.
• Track MHE performance metrics and collaborate with technicians to eliminate electrical issues affecting throughput.
