Shape Reliability at ScaleStep into a role where you don’t just keep automated systems running—you make them better every day. You’ll blend hands-on troubleshooting with systems thinking to elevate uptime, safety, and throughput across mission-critical environments powered by conveyors, sortation lines, scanners, vision systems, print-and-apply equipment, PLCs, and SCADA.A day in the lifeBegin by checking SCADA dashboards and equipment KPIs to spot trends and tune preventive maintenance strategies that reduce unplanned downtime.Jump into PLC logic on Allen‑Bradley ControlLogix/CompactLogix using RSLogix 5000 to diagnose and refine control software for material handling systems.Serve as the first-call escalation—on-site and remote, during and after business hours—to resolve complex controls issues and coordinate rapid response to emergencies.Walk the systems to verify operation against design intent and client specifications; close gaps with targeted adjustments.Scope, schedule, and inspect work by third-party contractors—from licensed installations and upgrades to specialized maintenance—ensuring quality and compliance.Engineer reliability and process improvements from concept through network-wide implementation.Monitor and troubleshoot industrial networks (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, AS‑i) along with motor control systems, servo drives, VFDs/frequency drives, and electrical distribution.Analyze failure modes, lead reviews, and recommend procedural changes or retraining to prevent recurrence.Partner with site leadership, operations, and maintenance to communicate technical risks, timelines, and production impacts with clarity.Track MHE performance metrics and team up with technicians to eliminate electrical issues affecting throughput.Build strong relationships with the client and the Operations Maintenance team, and take on additional duties as needed.Must-havesBachelor's degree preferred with 2–5 years of relevant experience; a combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.Experience spanning at least two engineering design cycles (specification, component selection, programming).2+ years working with PLC programming, robotics system components and controls, and SCADA-based monitoring/control systems.Flexible to work weekends, nights, and holidays as required; comfortable being the escalation point after hours.Independent problem solver able to execute with minimal oversight and follow general instructions in standard situations.Physical capability to stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, and lift/carry 50+ lbs.Skilled at guiding complex conversations, conveying expectations, and resolving sensitive issues.Preferred2+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in control systems troubleshooting/programming.Background supporting a variety of conveyor and sortation technologies.Experience with robotic maintenance.Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and related tools.Exceptional organization, curiosity, and follow-through.Advanced math skills for calculations involving percentages, fractions, and financial figures.Core proficienciesPLC programmingSCADAComplianceApplicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
