Job summary

Synthomer plc is seeking a Reliability Engineer at the Jefferson Hills plant to drive asset reliability, safety, and performance. You will partner with Maintenance, Operations, SHE, and Engineering to minimize downtime and optimize asset life.

This role emphasizes RCA, preventive and predictive maintenance, data analysis, and capital project support, while ensuring compliance with OSHA PSM and Synthomer standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
• 3+ years in reliability, maintenance engineering, or equipment engineering within chemical manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of RCA, RCM, FMEA, Weibull, etc.
• Familiarity with CMMS systems (SAP preferred).
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain a site‑wide reliability program aligned with global engineering standards.
• Lead RCAs and implement corrective actions with Maintenance and Operations.
• Review PM/PdM tasks and optimize for effectiveness and efficiency.
• Develop asset care strategies and support project lifecycle cost evaluations.
• Analyze downtime trends and maintenance costs to drive improvements.
• Provide reliability input during design reviews, outages, and capital projects.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA PSM, mechanical integrity, and SHE standards.
