Job summary

Synthomer is seeking a Reliability Engineer to improve equipment reliability, safety and performance at the Jefferson Hills chemical facility. You will apply data‑driven analysis, RCA, and preventive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and extend asset life while ensuring compliant, efficient plant operations.

Collaborating with Maintenance, Operations, SHE, and Engineering, you will develop and implement predictive maintenance, monitor asset health with CMMS data, and support capital

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
• 3+ years in reliability, maintenance engineering, or equipment engineering in chemical manufacturing or similar industrial environments.
• Working knowledge of reliability tools and methodologies (RCA, RCM, FMEA, Weibull).
• Strong understanding of rotating equipment, fixed equipment, utilities, and instrumentation.
• Familiarity with PSM mechanical integrity requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain a site-wide reliability program aligned with Synthomer standards.
• Lead RCAs and implement corrective actions with Maintenance and Operations.
• Review and optimize PM/PdM tasks to improve effectiveness.
• Analyze downtime trends and maintenance costs to guide improvements.
• Support capital projects ensuring reliability, maintainability, and operability.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA PSM and mechanical integrity requirements.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, SHE, and contractors.
