Job description

Maximus is seeking an experienced Release Manager to join our team! The Software Release Manager ensures smooth and timely delivery of high-quality software releases. This role involves overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of software deployment processes while adhering to best practices in release management and version control. The Software Release Manager will act as the primary point of contact for release schedules, ensuring cross-functional alignment and seamless communication.

Position Details:

• This position is contingent upon award.
• Remote work with occasional travel to San Antonio, TX or Baltimore, MD as required by the client.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Provide subject matter expertise in release management processes and tools.
2. Develop, maintain, and improve release strategies, workflows, and documentation.
3. Coordinate with development, QA, operations, and product teams for release planning and execution.
4. Analyze and mitigate risks associated with releases, ensuring fallback plans are in place.
5. Monitor release metrics, troubleshoot issues, and improve processes continuously.
6. Create release communication materials including schedules and impact analyses.
7. Lead post-release reviews for feedback and process refinement.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant experience in software release management; Bachelor's degree may substitute 2 years of experience.
• TS/SCI clearance required.
• Experience with release management tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps).
• Strong knowledge of SDLC and CI/CD practices.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects across teams.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructures and DevOps principles.
• Certifications like CSM or ITIL Foundations are a plus.
