Job summary

Spatial Front, Inc. seeks a Release Engineer to lead end-to-end release management across multiple ARTs supporting a complex PeopleSoft platform in a federal environment.

Hybrid work with on-site Arlington, VA as scheduled, remaining days remote. The role focuses on integrated release planning, dependency management, environment readiness, deployment governance, cutover coordination, risk management, and production stabilization for PeopleSoft HCM and related capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in CS, IS, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of release management, deployment management, or environment coordination for enterprise applications; experience with PeopleSoft HCM or similar ERP platforms preferred.
  • Hands-on experience coordinating complex releases across multiple teams/ARTs, including release planning, dependency management, cutover execution, and post-release stabilization.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, testing cycles, migration practices, configuration management, and release governance; experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar tools preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end release management activities across multiple ARTs for PeopleSoft HCM and related systems.
  • Develop and maintain an integrated release calendar, milestones, deployment windows, and dependency trackers across teams.
  • Coordinate release scope, readiness, and sequencing for enhancements, fixes, tax updates, and production support across environments.
  • Facilitate release governance activities including planning meetings, readiness reviews, and go/no-go assessments.
  • Work with product owners, scrum masters, release train engineers, developers, testers, and operations to resolve dependencies and blockers.
  • Track risks, issues, decisions, and actions to protect production stability and business continuity.
  • Ensure environment readiness and deployment discipline across development, test, staging, and production.
  • Develop and maintain release runbooks, checklists, status reporting, and release notes for repeatability.

  • Develop and maintain release runbooks, checklists, status reporting, release notes, lessons learned, and operational handoff materials to improve repeatability, auditability, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will lead release management planning, coordination, and execution across multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs) supporting a complex PeopleSoft platform in a federal environment.   • Hands-on experience coordinating complex releases across multiple teams or ARTs, including release planning, dependency management, cutover execution, change control, production readiness, and post-release stabilization.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, testing cycles, migration practices, configuration management, and release governance; experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar work tracking and reporting tools preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one; experience supporting federal or other highly regulated environments preferred.
Desired Skills
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft HCM release cycles, PeopleTools updates, PUM image adoption, tax/regulatory changes, interfaces, batch processing, and the operational considerations of enterprise ERP releases.
  • Experience supporting SAFe or other scaled agile delivery models, including coordination across multiple ARTs, synchronized planning cadences, release trains, and cross-team dependency management.
  • Knowledge of release runbooks, deployment checklists, go/no-go criteria, rollback planning, change management, incident management, and production support practices that reduce release risk and improve stability.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, client leadership, and operations personnel, including presentation of release status, readiness, risks, and recommendations.
