Role Overview:
You will support application release management, production support, and deployment activities. This versatile IT analyst coordinates release readiness, deployment planning, and implementation. You handle communication, tracking, issue escalation, and post-release follow-up for enterprise applications. You work with various teams to ensure smooth releases, support major and emergency deployments, and promote best practices for release processes. You may support activities outside normal hours, including evenings and weekends, especially during deployment windows.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate release readiness, deployment planning, and implementation activities for enterprise applications and related IT solutions.
- Develop and maintain release plans, deployment timelines, milestone schedules, readiness checkpoints, and communication schedules.
- Track dependencies, open issues, blockers, risks, decisions, and outstanding actions through to completion.
- Support implementation-window coordination, including evening and weekend deployment activities when required.
- Monitor deployment progress, maintain status channels, and escalate issues affecting release success.
- Provide backup coverage for critical release activities during planned absences or concurrent releases.
- Prepare clear and timely communications for technical teams, business partners, IT management, and application users regarding release status and issues.
- Collect validation results from technical leads, testing teams, and business representatives to track technical and functional readiness.
- Support leadership discussions with accurate, up-to-date information for go/no-go decisions.
- Partner with various teams to coordinate deployment sequencing and release dependencies.
- Facilitate alignment and focus on release milestones, safety, communication, and service restoration.
- Assist with Change Requests, QA documentation, implementation plans, validation evidence, and release records.
- Ensure adherence to Change Management, release management, testing, and documentation standards.
- Respond to production issues, coordinate during incidents, failed implementations, and deployment exceptions.
- Document risks, lessons learned, and opportunities for process improvement after each release.
- Support retrospective reviews and recommend best practices to improve release processes and communication.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related discipline, or a minimum of 4 years of related experience.
- 1 to 3 years of experience as an IT Application Analyst, Release Analyst, Release Coordinator, Project Coordinator, Change Management Analyst, or similar.
- Experience coordinating application releases, deployments, and production changes.
- Experience developing and maintaining release plans, schedules, readiness trackers, status reports, risk logs, and action-item trackers.
- Troubleshooting, problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Experience coordinating work across application, infrastructure, database, environment, testing, vendor, and business teams.
- Working knowledge of Change Management, incident management, application support, testing, and production implementation practices.
- Ability to track multiple workstreams, dependencies, risks, decisions, and milestones simultaneously.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to technical teams, business partners, users, IT management, and leadership.
- Ability to work effectively with limited direction while exercising judgment on communication, escalation, and release readiness.
- Ability to support activities outside normal business hours, including evenings and weekends when required.
