Electric Power Systems in Albuquerque NM is seeking a Relay Technician II to perform testing, commissioning, and maintenance of protection and control systems. You will work with Senior Technicians and Engineers to deliver safe, reliable testing and diagnostics across utility and industrial facilities in North America.

The role emphasizes safety, technical proficiency in relay systems, and development of expertise in protection schemes and testing practices.

Formación

• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, testing & repairing protective relays in transmission, generation or distribution substations.
• Knowledge of relay test software.
• Ability to read one-line/three-line diagrams and protection logic.
• Ability to travel and work overtime as needed.

Responsabilidades

• Adhere to safety policies and participate in job briefings and hazard mitigation.
• Apply Human Performance Error Reduction concepts in daily work practices.
• Promote safe work behaviors and safety initiatives.
• Perform relay testing with Senior Technicians and Engineers.
• Execute element, logic, and basic functional testing of protective relays and control systems.
• Perform and evaluate in-service readings to verify system performance and identify abnormalities.
• Conduct end-to-end testing and validate protection system operation.
• Perform communication installations and testing (SCADA, GOOSE, Modbus, fiber, etc.).
• Analyze relay operations, event records, and system performance data for troubleshooting.
• Read and interpret protection diagrams and relay logic.
• Develop testing and isolation plans for safe execution.
• Create detailed reports and calibration documentation.
