Principal Recruitment Consultant at Intelletec, USA

We’re looking for a hands-on technical leader with a background in relay commissioning, field services, and power system protection who is ready to step into a customer-facing engineering role. This position is ideal for someone who has progressed from the field—perhaps as a Relay Technician, Commissioning Engineer, or Field Services Manager—and is eager to leverage their technical knowledge in a hybrid support, training, and product advocacy role.

Key Qualifications:

• Must have field experience with relays and recorders—including installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, or relay coordination.
• Experience as a Field Manager, Lead Relay Technician, or similar role with supervisory or mentoring responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of electric power systems, protection philosophies, and relay application at the utility or EPC level.
• Familiar with protective relay brands such as Schweitzer (SEL), GE, ABB, etc
• Proficient in load flow, short circuit, and relay coordination studies using tools like EMTP, ASPEN, or ETAP.
• Comfortable working with communication protocols such as DNP3 or IEC 61850.

Responsibilities:

• Act as a technical bridge between our customers and product development teams—supporting protection and automation solutions.
• Provide field-based and remote application support, commissioning guidance, and troubleshooting.
• Conduct technical training, product demonstrations, and installation support for utility and industrial clients.
• Deliver product feedback from the field to engineering and marketing teams to inform product enhancements.
• Collaborate with sales and application engineering on proposals and solution development.
• Author and contribute to technical content: manuals, application notes, white papers, and conference presentations.
• Participate in key industry groups like IEEE PSRC, NASPI, etc.
• Lead or support customer projects from planning through deployment.
• Mentor junior team members and serve as a technical escalation point.

Required Skills & Experience:

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering
• 3–5+ years of direct hands-on experience with protective relays and disturbance recorders
• Experience managing or supervising field commissioning teams or relay technicians
• Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to lead customer interactions
• Proficiency with power system simulation tools
• Excellent documentation, training, and presentation abilities
• Ability to travel up to 15% (U.S./Canada/International)

Ideal Candidate Has:

Hands-on relay testing & commissioning experience

Background as a field leader or manager

Experience with industry-standard relay manufacturers
