Job summary

Chemung Canal Trust Company is hiring a Relationship Banker I in the United States. You will deliver exceptional service, process routine and complex transactions, and support customers with deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments while safeguarding assets.

You’ll open accounts, assist with loans, and proactively seek opportunities to deepen relationships. The role requires strong communication, sales skills, and a willingness to work across branches.

Qualifications

• One year experience in a banking or customer service position preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent with an emphasis in a business curriculum
• Demonstrated experience in banking and/or customer service
• Proficient analytical and mathematic skills, along with reading and writing skills
• Proficient communication, interpersonal and sales skills
• A comprehensive knowledge of operating policies and procedures which impact consumer services; A thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of company consumer products and services
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. of coin
• Valid driver's license. Must be able to support multiple branch locations as needed

Responsibilities

• Provides exceptional customer service to new and established financial institution clients
• Cross-sell products and services
• Process deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments and balance cash drawer
• Assist with maintenance of bank equipment such as ATMs and Night Drops
• Research customer inquiries and process checks/debit cards; follow up with clients to deepen relationships
• Use needs-based assessment tools to analyze customer needs and recommend solutions
