Job summary

Chemung Canal Trust Company is seeking a Relationship Banker I to deliver exceptional customer service, cross-sell financial products, and handle deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments with accuracy.

Open accounts, assist with loan applications, and support daily branch operations while maintaining regulatory compliance and customer-focused service. This role offers growth within a community bank and opportunities to expand client relationships across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year experience in banking or customer service.
• High School Diploma or equivalent with an emphasis in a business curriculum.
• Demonstrated communication, interpersonal and sales skills.
• Proficient mathematical and analytical abilities with strong reading/writing skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. of coin.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to support multiple branch locations.

Responsibilities

• Provides exceptional customer service to bank clients, including cross-selling of products and services and cash receipt and payment processing.
• Processes deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and other transactions while balancing the cash drawer and safeguarding assets.
• Assists with ATM and Night Drop maintenance and servicing.
• Uses needs-based assessment tools to analyze customer needs and recommends suitable solutions in person or by phone.
• Opens deposit accounts and assists with loan applications, following regulatory requirements.
• Maintains knowledge of bank products and industry trends to enhance customer relationships.
• Participates in branch meetings and coaching sessions and supports training of new staff.
• Adheres to operational controls and regulatory procedures to ensure safety of assets.
