Job summary

First Bank & Trust is seeking a Relationship Banker in Lynchburg, VA. The role focuses on building customer relationships, handling account transactions, and cross-selling banking products.

The position supports a cash-handling environment with a strong emphasis on service quality and compliance, following banking policies and procedures. You will greet customers, assist with accounts, process deposits/withdrawals, and work with the team to meet service and sales goals.

Qualifications

• Retail sales or bank experience of 2+ years
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Cash handling experience preferred
• Strong listening and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential information
• Working knowledge of Word and Excel
• Excellent networking skills
• Detail oriented and organized
• Professional
• Ability to work Saturdays as required

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and professionally
• Assist customers with account openings, closures, and maintenance
• Conduct cash and non-cash transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loans payments
• Balance cash drawers and reconcile transactions
• Process loan payments, credit card advances, and other financial transactions
• Identify customer financial needs through profiling and listening
• Cross-sell bank products and services
• Resolve customer inquiries, concerns, or complaints promptly
• Collaborate with the branch to meet goals
• Stay updated on regulations and product changes
• Ensure compliance with policies and regulations
• Assist with account inquiries and information on products/services
• Respond to inquiries in person, phone, or email
• Toll-free Call Group and Banno Chat Group participation
