Job summary

IU Health in Indiana is seeking a Rehabilitation Administrative Support team member who will manage patient flow, registrations, scheduling, and routine inquiries. You will interact with patients and staff to ensure accurate records and smooth operations in outpatient rehabilitation settings.

This role requires basic MS Office skills, strong communication, and the ability to work in a collaborative team. You will help verify insurance, coordinate benefits, and support daily department tasks

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years' experience in Rehabilitation Services or similar.
• Ability to work in a team and maintain collaborative relationships.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word/PowerPoint/Excel/TEAMS).
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to take initiative and meet objectives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of Associate of Clinical Support duties.

Responsibilities

• Oversees patient flow from entry to destination with timely, professional service.
• Responsible for timely and accurate resolution of patients' accounts.
• Obtain information to generate accurate financial and demographic records.
• Coordinate benefits, insurance verification, and prior authorization.
• Communicate with payers and patients to obtain accurate financial information.
• Register patients, schedule recurring appointments, answer calls.
• Support department operations and participate in performance improvement.
• Participate in infection control and safety programs.
• Manage inventory of department supplies.

Primary Responsibilities

• This position oversees patient flow from point of entry to destination and ensures timely, accurate and professional services.
• This position is responsible for timely and accurate resolution of patients' accounts.
• Responsibilities may include but are not limited to obtaining specific information to generate accurate financial and demographic records, insurance verification, prior authorization, and coordination of benefits.
• Communicate with payers and patients to achieve accurate financial information.
• Responsible for accurate Registration of patients, Scheduling recurring appointments, answers incoming calls and directs patient and visitors appropriately.
• Participates in operational aspects of the department and maintains performance improvement activities as required.
• Participate in all infection control, department equipment training, regulatory compliance, organizational safety and fire safety programs.
• Orders, distributes and maintains designated and appropriate inventory of department related supplies.
• This position is assigned to higher complexity tasks than those expected from Associate-Rehabilitation Clinical Support and incumbents are held to higher productivity and quality standards.

REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Two years' experience in Rehabilitation Services or similar job duties (patient registration, insurance, scheduling) required.
• Requires the ability to work within a team and maintain collaborative relationships.
• Requires basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, TEAMS).
• Requires high level of interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Requires the ability to take initiative and meet objectives.
• Requires effective written and verbal communication skills.
