Job summary

IU Health is seeking Rehabilitation Technicians for the West Hospital in Avon, IN. Shifts are 12-hour on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with no weekend or holiday work, supporting clinicians in patient care and mobility.

The role emphasizes safe handling, infection control, and department operations to ensure smooth patient flow. Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma/GED, BLS certification within 6 months, and completion of rehab technician training within 3 months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification through the AHA within 6 months of hire.
• Rehabilitation Technician Training Program completion within 3 months of hire.
• 1-3 years healthcare experience preferred; rehab experience preferred.
• Familiarity with patient lifting and handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs designated routine patient care tasks under the direct supervision of the clinician(s).
• Assists the clinician to provide safe mobility and positioning of the patient as needed.
• Maintains and cleans treatment areas and equipment.
• Participates in department operations and maintains performance improvement activities as required.
• Participates in infection control, department equipment training, regulatory compliance, organizational safety and fire safety programs.
• Orders, distributes and maintains designated and appropriate inventory of department supplies.
• May perform scheduling, customer service and some clerical duties.
• Rehabilitation Technicians can transport medications to/from the patient treatment room for patient treatment.
