Job summary

Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services (IVRS) seeks a Rehabilitation Assistant to join our IowaWORKS office in Council Bluffs, IA. This is an excellent early-career opportunity for someone who enjoys helping others and supporting individuals toward employment and independence.

You will work with Rehabilitation Counselors and a collaborative service team, assisting job candidates with applications, intake, and readiness activities, with hybrid telework available after six months and a schedule

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time work in human services or related fields.
• Two years as legal assistant/paralegal, medical office assistant, or job coach.
• A mix of two years of education and full-time experience.
• Eighteen months direct client/customer service in state executive branch.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and orient applicants to IVRS services.
• Assist with applications and referral materials.
• Schedule intake interviews and maintain communication.
• Facilitate job readiness activities (Job Seeking Skills, Job Club, mock interviews).
• Support candidates in building workplace readiness and confidence.
