The Texas Health and Human Services Commission is seeking a Rehab Therapy Tech IV at Vernon State Hospital to support a comprehensive rehabilitation program and contribute to patient recovery.

The role requires rotating shifts (11-8) and occasional Saturdays, with opportunities for professional growth within a large state system. This full-time position offers a stable, on-site work environment in Vernon, Texas.

Qualifications

• The Rehab Therapy Tech IV performs highly complex (senior-level) rehabilitative therapy work.
• Assists with development, implementation, and execution of a planned rehabilitation program.
• Assists in training new rehabilitation staff and provides guidance to other staff.

Responsabilités

• Attends work regularly and may be scheduled for specific/rotating shifts, extended shifts, or overtime.
• Ensures quality rehabilitation programming to promote successful community return.
• Instructs patients in therapeutic activities such as games, recreation, fitness, swimming, crafts, and team-building.
• Provides instruction to patients in self-care, independent living, and character-building topics.
• Maintains patient observation, documents participation and behavior in progress notes.
• Trains Rehabilitation Technicians and supports department leadership as needed.
