Job summary

Health & Human Services Comm in Texas is seeking a Rehab Therapy Tech IV to perform complex rehabilitative therapy work, assisting in development, implementation, and execution of rehabilitation programs at Terrell State Hospital.

The role involves guiding staff, training new rehabilitation staff, and working under general supervision with some independence. It includes potential overtime and occasional travel for off-site activities.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience working with people with mental illness or intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Two years’ experience in the development of treatment and support plans for people with mental illness or intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
• Must possess a valid Texas driver license or obtain it no later than 90 days after hire date to drive a state vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Attends work on a regular basis and may be asked to work a specific shift schedule or rotating schedule.
• Assists in planning, implementing, and executing rehabilitative therapy programs and guides other staff.
• Instructs patients in self-care, independent living skills, and character building; maintains community and college relationships for scheduling visits.
