Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) in Vernon, TX is seeking a Rehab Therapy Tech III to support habilitative and rehabilitative therapy programs. The RTT assists therapists, implements treatment plans, and trains staff, contributing to patient progress and program continuity within a state hospital setting.

The role requires a valid Texas driver license, CPR certification within 12 months, and potential for flexible hours with occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• 18 months experience working with people who have mental illness or IDD.
• Experience in development of treatment plans preferred.
• Valid Texas driver license within 90 days of hire.
• CPR certification within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans through hands-on methods.
• Assist therapists with assigned therapeutic specialty.
• Train staff to ensure continuity of treatment plans.
• Conduct functional skills assessments.
• Schedule and provide staff training for PNA’s.
• Monitor program objectives and report progress.
• Maintain required paperwork and data collection.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team process.
