Job summary

The therapy technician role at UnityPoint Health supports therapists by performing clerical tasks, equipment preparation, and patient transport, under licensed supervision. Front desk duties and basic EPIC use are included to aid patient flow and care delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year experience in a medical setting preferred or experience as a therapy aide/tech/volunteer or current enrollment in a PT/OT/ST program.
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) through the American Heart Association required.
• IL & IA Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training within 60 days of hire.
• IL & IA Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs clerical duties for therapists and staff (e.g., faxing, scanning, copying, tx activity creation, filing).
• Provides support at front desk by assisting with phone answering, patient requests, and basic EPIC functions.
• Assists with the preparation and cleaning of equipment and treatment area.
• Coordinates maintenance requests and maintains all departmental equipment.
• Assists with transportation of patients as needed.
• Orders supplies for the department. Obtains supplies from outside vendors.
• Performs other tasks as requested.
• Practice reflects knowledge of HIPAA, DMV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.
