Job summary

UMC Health System is seeking a Rehabilitation Aide to support PT/OT/OTA/PTA teams in an acute care setting. You will help implement treatments, monitor patient progress, and maintain equipment and supplies while adhering to standards of practice and hospital policies.

The role emphasizes patient safety, teamwork with multiple departments, and daily operational tasks, including chart updates and coordination with nursing for therapy sessions. On-the-job training is provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• On the job training provided.
• No hospital experience required but preferred.
• Computer experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Monitors patients in routine exercise programs and gait training as instructed by PT/PTA or OT/OTA.
• Assists with patient transfers and ADLs, ensuring safety and proper body mechanics.
• Performs modalities and is aware of precautions/contraindications for treatments.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of patient care areas and supplies.
• Updates patient lists and coordinates with nursing staff for scheduled treatments.
• Assists in assembling weekly/daily supply orders and inventory.
