Job summary

Centralus Health is seeking a Rehab Services Specialist to coordinate prior authorizations, patient registrations, and initial evaluations for physical, occupational, and speech therapies across six outpatient locations. The role requires anatomy knowledge and ICD-10 coding to ensure proper reimbursement, with cross-training as Rehab Secretary and Outpatient Rehab Technician.

The position reports to the System Director of Rehab Services and entails strong clerical and clinical collaboration,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Hospital or rehabilitation services experience required.
• Working knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and rehabilitation services required; ICD-10 coding knowledge preferred.
• One to two years of healthcare experience with clerical and clinical rehab knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls professionally, return messages within 24 hours, and manage communications.
• Use healthcare applications for authorization, registration, scheduling, documentation, and billing coordination.
• Obtain referrals, insurance information, authorizations, ICD-10 codes, and billing requirements to ensure reimbursement.
• Register and schedule patients across locations, coordinating therapist specialties and guidelines.
• Communicate with patients, physicians, staff, and insurance; provide prep instructions and follow-ups; cross-train as needed.
